When she conceptualized The Fairmont San Francisco’s “Break-Up” package, which celebrated the single life as an alternative to traditional romance packages, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times took notice, with Jeffries Blackerby naming it his “favorite” Valentine’s package.

The Fairmont San Francisco

For more than a decade, Samara Diapoulos served as the Director of Public Relations for The Fairmont San Francisco, the flagship property of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts – a collection of 65 luxury properties around the world. At The Fairmont, Samara orchestrated international public relations campaigns for important milestones in the landmark hotel’s history including its $85 million restoration and centennial anniversary, which was leveraged to represent the 100th anniversary of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

The Palace Hotel

Prior to joining The Fairmont, Samara was the Director of Public Relations for The Palace Hotel, where she spearheaded the hotel’s re-opening campaign after a $150 million restoration. She was honored to receive the Gold Award for New Opening Campaign from the Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International. During her tenure with The Palace, she helped to launch The Luxury Collection, now the crown jewel properties of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, in the United States and developed cross-promotions with sister properties, including the famed St. Regis New York.

Strong Ties to Hospitality Industry and Local Community

She has served on the Marketing Committee for the Hotel Council of San Francisco since 2008 and was a member of the PR Steering Committee for Historic Hotels of America (National Trust for Historic Preservation) from 1999 to 2011.

Active in the local community, Samara is a member of the San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary and, in 2012, Samara Public Relations was the agency of record for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Man & Woman of the Year” fund-raising campaign.

A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Samara began her career at Solem & Associates in San Francisco.
